Overtime

 1st Quarter

A silver lining in the midst of chaos

The world becomes white noise… again

and you hyper fixate on the possibilities

forever entertaining the big what ifs in life

2nd Quarter

Thoughts of a lifetime together

Endless chatter and witty banter

You think you found the one… again

Because what if he is?

Halftime

Reality sneaks its way inside and the dust settles

He starts looking a little different now

you didn't even realize that nigga had a crooked tooth

He's no longer “mysterious” just evasive and deflects a lot

You’re no longer “feisty” you just always got too much to say

He’s a little bored with you now too

The Honeymoon Phase has ran its course

the end is coming but you decide to wait it out

3rd Quarter

Lights out, music on, with your favorite scented candle

Headspace cleared with no extra noise

Forever craving control, how will you handle

the fate of a life and love desired but destined to shatter

4th Quarter

Thinking bout earlier, I know you felt that energy shift

the end is here and you can’t wait it out anymore

the conversation is dull and the sex is routine

just call it quits already, the game is over

Overtime

What now?

Such a GOATED Poem. Dawg that crooked teeth part got me. Cause it's real. Being with someone those first few months really thinking it's forever. Then as you really get to know them you just like dang. But you know us humans always trying to wait it out. Until we realize like ok this is grits. What do we do now?
